Simple and Elegant Wedding on Long Island Sound

The weather couldn't have been more beautiful September 18th 2010 as a setting for this gorgeous wedding on the Long Island Sound in Guilford, CT.

The ceremony was at the St. Thomas More Chapel at Yale University in New Haven. Simple cylindrical vases of calla lilies with curly willow branches enhanced the altar without interfering with the elegant design of the chapel.

The bride carried a hand tied bouquet of white & eggplant dendrobium orchids with white, dusty pink and eggplant calla lilies.
The bridesmaids carried similar bouquets wrapped in contrasting violet and plum ribbon to match the dresses. In addition to a small amount of mini green hydrangea, seeded eucalyptus and bear grass was used in the bouquets.

All were accented with crystals on bear grass loops.

Inside the Guilford Yacht Club tall cylinders were filled with eggplant purple dendrobium orchids and underwater lights.
Lower cylinders had green floating candles, a few small green and purple orchids accented with a large purple phaleonopsis orchid bloom.  Absolutely stunning, simple design.

Outside, with a view of the sound
more cylinders were placed on the tables.

For the entry table in the lobby we created a beautiful curly willow arrangement loaded with spanish and reindeer moss. Attached to the branches were eggplant dendrobium orchids,  violet mokara orchids and green mini cymbidium orchids
