Earth Blossoms Flowers -Our May CT Weddings from the hills to the shoreline
May 2013
This month has started with
some fabulous weddings.
May 4th- weather
wise an incredibly sunny, gorgeous day with flowers blooming everywhere.
We
started the first weekend with two very lovely brides with the same wedding
date and many similarities. Elaine’s wedding was in a quaint little country
church in the hills of Northwestern CT and a rustic venue –the historic part of Belle Terrace in Avon (formerly
Avon Old Farms Inn).
For her bouquet she chose the
luscious Juliet garden rose, ivory peonies, ivory garden roses, ivory sweet
peas and a bit of green to tie into her pastel green bridesmaids dresses.
Her attendants carried a
similar bouquet. They were gorgeous. My photographs are not the greatest so I
am really waiting to see what her photographer, Bryan Avigne, has come up
with.
Here are a few of my photos of the bouquets and table
centerpieces.
Emilie’s wedding was in St
Mary’s Church in New London, CT –a monumental, historic structure.
For the aisle we used peach and cream flowers, ribbons w/ lanterns lighting the way.
For her bouquet she also chose the Juliet garden roses, ivory peonies, etc and her bridesmaids wearing a
Marine teal carried similar bouquets to hers.
Again, I am awaiting the
photographs from the fabulous
Jennifer Braga of Studio
1923.
The following Saturday May 11, we had
Kate’s wedding that was very different from the first two. It was in red and
white and at The Simsbury Inn.
The bride carried a stunning
bouquet of all red roses w/ a scattering of crystals and her attendants carried
mostly white hydrangea w/ a touch of red roses in them. I am sure these looked
gorgeous against their red dresses.
It was a rainy day but they
were able to use the lobby of The Simsbury Inn for their ceremony. It was in
front of the fireplace and was just perfectly cozy and romantic.
The reception centerpieces were
done in all white with towering pedestals of glass with white hydrangea on top
and a submerged stem of white orchids below on alternating tables. The other
centerpieces were made up of white orchids submerged in water in three
graduated cylinders with floating candles on top. The tables were accented with
red napkins. It looked stunning.
Unfortunately, I only was
able to snap one iphone photo as I was on my way out. Once again I am
relying on the photographer for some beautiful shots.
To finish out the month of May
we have eight more weddings so I will continue this Blog with a part 2 at the
end of the month. Stay tuned we have some really unique weddings coming up!
