Now that the year is coming to an end I am reflecting back
on my 2012 weddings. Usually I wander over a border to NY or Ma but I am amazed that in this record year all of my weddings in 2012 were in Connecticut!
Through Earth Blossoms I was a part of 73 weddings in 2012
and now the big question on the horizon for me is:
What incredible ideas can I come up with for 2013?
After having been in business on my own now since the 80’s I
have done and seen more weddings than I can count! I am amazed that still every
year there is something new that comes up. A venue I have not been to, a
photographer that I have not worked with before and ultimately new ideas that I
have to formulate! I am always trying to
think of a new way to present flowers including varieties that have been around
for centuries.
This is what my focus
will be for the month of January. It is a month filled with wedding
appointments with brides and grooms eager to book for the 2013 season. I am looking
forward to working on new designs for these new couples. In a sign of the times we are called on to
create stand out designs while keeping costs down! Of course, we have to charge
a certain amount for our flowers after all we are in business, want to stay
there and contrary to common belief we can’t just pick the flowers on the side
of the road!
As a florist I think one of the most important components of
a wedding are the flowers. So stay tuned because I will be posting some of my creative
new designs here for you to see!
Here are a few photos from some of Earth Blossom’s 2012
weddings.
