Pedestal Centerpieces a floral journey from Groton, CT to Simsbury, CT to Lenox, Ma and many places in between!

Designing pedestal centerpieces and installing them took us on an adventure for 2011 which brought us as far East as the Branford House in Groton to northern CT at The Riverview in Simsbury and even further North to the Winthrop estate in Lenox, MA!
Pedestal centerpieces really enhance a room or tent with high ceilings.
Below we have posted some highlights of our 2011 wedding season featuring pedestal centerpieces.

DECORATING FOR CEREMONIES -The Riverview, Crystal Peak, The Hill-stead museum and all around CT

There are many ways to decorate for a wedding ceremony.  This season we have had the pleasure of decorating in all kinds of ways. Some are the same arch at a venue that we frequent and there have been no two the same! We are only half way through our booked weddings for the season so I suppose I will be doing another blog on this subject later in the year. Here is a look at some of our ceremony work!

Litchfield Wedding Flowers by Earth Blossoms!

Memorial Day Weekend 2011 and another gorgeous Litchfield Hills Wedding!

Brides Bouquet

The bride carried a romantically styled bouquet in shades of whites and ivories of peonies, gardenias and ranunculus.
Her ten attendants carried the most beautiful bouquets in soft pastels of peonies, roses, garden roses, ranunculus and freesia. The bouquets had an ethereal quality about them.

The blush pink peonies were so full and looked as if they were made from delicate tissue paper.

All of Connecticut is beautiful from the shoreline up here to the hills and I feel fortunate that I get to work all over the state.

The setting for this particular wedding was absolutely stunning! The weather was breezy but pleasant and the wind made the fabric on the Chuppah wave gently in the breeze. The flowers that were used were ivory hydrangea, blush and ivory peonies, ivory/blush garden roses, pale yellow roses, pale pink spray roses, pale yelow garden roses, green hanging amaranthus and curly willow were used to create the chuppah flowers as well as the centerpieces. The actual structure of the Chuppah was constructed by MJ Decor from Vernon, CT.

The afternoon sun was beaming into the reception tent and highlighted the soft yellow overlays on the tables where we placed the high and low centerpieces.

We used 6 of the low centerpieces on pedestals to line the ceremony aisle then moved them to the reception tables.

It was a wonderful wedding and I am anxiously waiting for the pro photos to share when they are ready.

Romantic Wedding Bouquets

2011 at Earth Blossoms will take us from one end of the state of CT to another for Weddings,
from The Branford House in Groton to The Lounsbury House in Ridgefield.
As we get further into the year a trend usually develops.

The number one request at Earth Blossoms so far in 2011 is for romantic wedding bouquets.
Bouquet of gardenias, freesia, roses and garden roses
Bouquet of stephanotis w/ pearl centers, white cymbidium orchids w/ pink throats, ranunculus and hydrangea
Past years have seen trends such as wildflowers, garden style and contemporary modern styles.  The colors are more muted in these bouquets many in varying shades of creams, ivories and whites.
Bouquet of garden roses, peach cymbidium orchids, ivory roses, creme de la creme roses

What constitutes a romantic looking bouquet?
These bouquets are brimming with flowers clustered together in soft tones.
The flowers themselves are full and lush.
We can't wait to be posting photos of our upcoming weddings!
It's going to be another beautiful year for Wedding Flowers at Earth Blossoms!

Lichfield County Wedding Flowers by Earth Blossoms

In 2010 Litchfield County was the site of many weddings with flowers created by Earth Blossoms
Harwinton Congregational Church

Of course, we are located here and tend to do a large number of weddings here every year. We had weddings in many towns in Litchfield County from Norfolk to Terryville and everywhere in between!
Many of the events were tented affairs at private homes but we had our share as usual at the Litchfield Country Club and St Anthony's Church in Litchfield.

Blue hydrangea dominated our weddings all over the state last year and Litchfield County was no exception.

There was blue hydrangea everywhere from the altar arrangements, pews and wreaths on the doors of  St. Anthony's to the flower girl pomanders and even surrounding the cake!

Some of our other weddings included Arches like this one at Crystal Peak
and this one of hydrangea at a private residence on West Hill Lake.

Of course not all of our Litchfield County weddings were blue!
We did have many Farm locations ranging where we used mostly locally grown farm flowers for! For one of our farm sites we made floral animals for the tables seating children!
Our Famous animals were invited to many weddings in 2010!

Tables were decorated in different ways with vintage looking milk glass vases to gorgeous Fall arrays.
